Who We Are
We are an organized group of fellow owners at The Renaissance on
Turtle Creek that wish to call a Special Meeting of the Association to call
a vote for removal of part or the entire Board of Directors of our
Condominium Association.
In this Special Meeting of the Association each Director would be subject
to a vote of removal per our Sections 6.4 &7.6 of our Bylaws. This vote
does not require the removal to be for cause or explanation.
What has mobilized many of us are the board’s collective actions up to
this point regarding their efforts regarding the potential purchase of the
“Poston Property” located at 3407 & 3409 N. Hall Street for millions of
dollars. Currently, the board’s plan for the property, based on information
from an email sent by the board, is to build a parking lot with a chain link
and cedar fence around it. This purchase would require a Special
Assessment levied against all owners. If the property acquisition efforts
were to be executed, at the midrange estimate of $9MM, then each
owner would be expected to pay thousands of dollars in special
assessments. $9MM for a new amenity of a parking lot! The board
continues to state that they would do this without a direct vote of the
owners. They did however suggest they’d send out a ‘survey’ to
determine if they’d proceed with it or not. That frankly has no teeth. This
petition effort does.
It is unfortunate that we had to come to this official position to force our
Board to act an officiated matter rather than ‘informal’ sessions and
providing slow to little responses to individuals seeking more information,
but here we are.
